Difficulty guide
The hardest countries to draw
These 57 countries carry more border detail per unit of area than any human freehand stroke can reproduce. Scoring above 50 on this list genuinely means something; scoring above 70 means you have drawn it before. Treat these as the boss fights.

Ranked by measured border detail, highest first. The detail figure counts outline vertices relative to the country's footprint.

Why these borders break people
Coastlines are fractal
Norway's border keeps getting longer the closer you look. A single pen stroke can only approximate the outermost envelope of a fjord system, which puts a hard ceiling on the score no matter how steady your hand is.
Archipelagos punish memory, not skill
Indonesia and the Philippines are not one shape but hundreds. You cannot draw what you cannot recall, and nobody recalls the relative position of every island.
Extreme proportions get flattened
Chile is over ten times longer than it is wide. Almost everyone draws it too fat, and because scoring compares filled area, that single error dominates the result.
