About Country Drawing

Country Drawing turns a simple question — "do you actually know what this country looks like?" — into a quick, replayable game. You get a country, you sketch its outline in one stroke, and you get an instant accuracy score plus a region-by-region breakdown of where you went wrong. There are 190 sovereign countries to practise, a shared daily challenge, a beginner trace mode, and an endless mode.

It is completely free, works in the browser, and needs no account. You can post a score to the leaderboard with just a display name — nothing else is required.

When you submit, your drawing is normalised for position and size, then compared against the real border using the overlap of filled area. "Matched" is how much of the true shape you covered, "missed" is the part of the country you left out, and "extra" is the area you drew outside the real border. The headline score rewards a correctly-proportioned shape far more than fine coastline detail.

Country borders are derived from Natural Earth, a public-domain map dataset maintained by the cartographic community. The outlines are simplified for drawing and gameplay, so they are approximations rather than official survey boundaries. Nothing on this site is intended as a statement about any political or territorial dispute.
