How to draw Samoa from memory

A four-step strategy for Samoa

   Draw a wide, shallow guide box in your head first — Samoa is much wider than tall, and getting that ratio right is worth more than any single coastline.

   Anchor one unmistakable feature — the straightest border section or the sharpest cape — and draw outward from it in a single continuous stroke.

   Finish the main landmass completely, then add the remaining 1 piece as separate strokes. Scoring counts total covered area, so an unclosed island can hurt more than a missing one.

Why Samoa is scored this way
